Grateful to Our Parents

Our school is very grateful for all the parents who support our school in so many different ways. We appreciate all the parents that give their time to make MSFW such a wonderful school and those who have supported us through the various fundraising efforts. Here are a few photos of volunteers: teaching knitting classes, reading to the primary students, talking to our UE students about peer pressure, and attending our school auction.

Alumni Speak at Event

Thank you to Lauren Sphar, Luke Boydstun, Lucy Young, Annie Nordgren and Walker Rutter for sharing their experience of transitioning from being a MSFW middle school graduate to entering high school.  Among the qualities they continue to use from their Montessori roots:  curiosity, time management, making friends, working with others, staying open to new ideas, passion, intrinsic motivation and joy of learning.

Parents have the unique opportunity to attend a presentation given by Dr. Betsy Coe, author of the middle school curriculum used by the majority of middle schools across the US including our school.  Dr. Coe will talk about developmental characteristics of the adolescent years, recent adolescent brain research, tendencies of the I Generation, and how the Montessori curriculum supports this age group.  This presentation is vital for parents of Upper Elementary or Middle School students.
