Middle School Tetons Trip

Eighth grade student Kyle Smith Hanna authored a wrap up of the middle school class trip: "This past week, our middle school went on a trip to the Teton Science School (https://www.tetonscience.org/) in western Wyoming. There, middle schoolers learned all about the environment and how abiotic, biotic, and cultural factors affect the landscape. They had a wonderful week in the Tetons and Yellowstone National Park." The middle school students would like to thank all the parents who supported their various fundraising activities throughout the school year that funded a portion of the trip: Parents' Night Out, Spaghetti Dinner, and individual businesses.

Seeking Old Magazines

The middle school class is in need of magazines for a variety of collage projects. Please considering donating them to our school instead of recycling them. Magazines with a variety of large, bright photographs are perfect! You can drop off the magazines in the school office. Thank you!

2018 AMS National Conference

Several of our teachers will be traveling to Denver later this month to attend the 2018 American Montessori Society National Conference. The conference provides the teachers opportunities to attend a wide variety of workshops gathering information, hearing about new research, honing skills specific to their age group, meet other Montessori teachers, tour other Montessori schools in the area and purchase new materials for their classrooms. The teachers will come back refreshed, reinvigorated and ready to share what they learned with their fellow teachers and students. We would like to thank the Montessori Parents' Club for providing the funds to pay for our teachers to attend the conference.

Middle School Teacher

The MSFW middle school faculty welcomes Ashley Buchanan who will be joining Katie Brewton in the fall of 2018.  The following is information about Ashley: Ashley was born in Springfield, MO, but grew up moving around the country every few years and attributes her flexibility and love of travel to that experience. She graduated from Wake Forest University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Certificate in Spanish for Business.  After college, she ran her own business as a muralist and spent seven years working in marketing and retail services management. Ashley was introduced to Montessori education in Parker, Colorado, where her son attended an AMS school. From their first visit, she was hooked on the respectful communication, the confidence-building independence, and peace education found in the Montessori classroom. Since moving to Fort Worth in 2015, Ashley has filled a variety of roles at the school, including Primary Lunch Bunch, substitute teaching in the Toddler, Primary, and Middle School classes, teaching art in Upper Elementary, and working with readers in Lower Elementary. She is passionate about the community [...]

Primary Class Drop Off Reminders

Primary parents please wait until your car is directly in front of the front door of your child's class before letting your student get out of your vehicle while in car line. It is very dangerous for the children to exit your vehicle and walk between other cars in car line. If you need to exit your vehicle for any reason - to help your child out of the vehicle, carry an umbrella, chat with a teacher, etc. - please park across the street and escort your student to the front door. We want to keep our car line moving. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.
